The Orihuela Half Marathon 2026 will hold its 27th edition on Sunday 15 November, alongside the 10th Caja Rural Central 8K. Both races, organised by Club Tragamillas, will start at 10:00 from Avenida de España in Orihuela, next to Glorieta Gabriel Miró.
Start at 10:00, half an hour earlier
The joint start has been brought forward by half an hour from the previous time of 10:30. The change aims to avoid higher temperatures during the final stretch of the race. “The start this year will be at 10 in the morning. Both distances will start together,” explained Francisco Belmonte, president of Club Tragamillas.
The race has national status and is listed on the Spanish Athletics Federation calendar. It has eleven categories, from under-20s to over-70s, as well as overall and team classifications. There is 2,500 euros in prize money.
The 8K reaches its tenth edition and will introduce a finisher’s medal for all participants. Its prizes do not include prize money.
A route among monuments
The half marathon consists of three laps of a circuit through the town centre. The route passes the Cathedral, the Episcopal Palace, the Colegio de Santo Domingo, the Church of Santiago and the Church of Santas Justa y Rufina. It also includes a stretch through the Palmeral.
The poster and commemorative T-shirt are the work of Orihuela painter Eva Ruiz. Both feature the five monuments and a portrait of Miguel Hernández. The T-shirt will be the same for all participants.
Race information is also available on the Orihuela Half Marathon race page.
Registration and prices
Registration will remain open until Thursday 12 November at 23:00 on the Club Tragamillas website. No entries will be accepted after that, including in person or on race day.
The price is 22 euros for the half marathon and 16 euros for the 8K. Those without a national or regional licence or a Runner Plus card must pay a supplement of 3 euros for the half marathon and 1 euro for the 8K.
Race number collection
Race numbers can be collected on Saturday 14 November at La Lonja, from 10:00 to 13:30 and from 16:30 to 20:00. Collection will also be available on Sunday 15 from 8:00 to 9:45.
The race operation will involve more than 40 local police officers and more than 150 volunteers.
