The 3 Días Trail Ibiza 2026 will hold its thirteenth edition in Ibiza from Friday 27 to Sunday 29 November, with Antonio Martínez and Gemma Arenas among the participants. Organisers say 1,450 runners have registered for the event, which combines three stages and several distances.

Runners can take part in all three days or choose individual stages. More than 70% of those registered come from outside the Balearic Islands.

Antonio Martínez and Gemma Arenas lead the field

Antonio Martínez will return for the second consecutive year after winning the Santa Eulària Half Marathon and 10K in 2025. The ASICS runner has won The North Face Transgrancanaria Marathon and Kaçkar by UTMB this season, as well as securing two top-10 finishes at Zegama and the Marathon du Mont Blanc.

The athlete explained why the format appeals to him: “I’m coming back to Ibiza because this stage-race format is quite unusual and I think it works very well. It suits me perfectly as a way to end the season. The appeal is racing flat out for three days, while knowing how to pace yourself and manage your effort,” said Antonio Martínez.

Gemma Arenas, the reigning women’s Ultra champion, will race that distance again. In 2026 she has won the CSP Penyagolosa Trails and claimed the FEDME Spanish Ultra title and the Spanish 100-kilometre road title, setting a record in the latter. She also took bronze at the IAU 100-kilometre World Championships.

Ultra and Marathon contenders

Alain Santamaria will make his Ibiza debut in the Ultra, following his victories this season at Gorbeia Suzien and the Marató Pirineu. Jesús Gil will also return to the Ultra after finishing fifth in 2025; this year he has won Trail Ribeira Sacra, Desafío Somiedo and Trail Menorca Camí de Cavalls.

The women’s field includes Yasmina Castro, of Club Tinganar, who has a podium finish at the CSP Penyagolosa Trails, and Naiara Irigoyen, who will make her event debut after her 2025 wins in Andorra and Sobrescobio. Gisela Carrión and Natalia Bermúdez are also in the line-up; Carrión finished fourth at the Marató i Mitja.

Julen Calvó will compete in the Marathon. In 2026 he won Transgrancanaria Advanced and Ultra Pirineu and took silver at the Skyrunning World Championships in La Gomera. Cèlia Ballcels will race the same distance after finishing fourth at Ultra Pirineu, fifth at Marató i Mitja and eleventh at Chianti Marathon this season.

Mallorca’s Bel Calero will return to the Half Marathon, where she finished second on her debut in 2025. Enric Pons, winner of the Trail Menorca Camí de Cavalls Costa Nord, is also among the entrants.

Chema Martínez and Núria Picas return for fourth year

Chema Martínez and Núria Picas will take part for the fourth consecutive year. Martínez won the Ibiza Half Marathon in 2023; he represented Spain at the Olympics in 2004 and 2008, and was Spanish marathon champion and European 10,000-metre champion.

Picas won the Ibiza Marathon on her debut in 2023 and finished fifth among the women in the Ultra in 2025.

Three stages between Ibiza and Santa Eulàlia

The race will start on Friday 27 November with a 10-kilometre night race, starting and finishing in the centre of Ibiza town. The route will pass through the historic centre, Dalt Vila, the Necropolis and trails outside the walls.

On Saturday 28 November there will be four distances: 10K, Half Marathon, Marathon and Ultra. The 77-kilometre Ultra, with 2,800 metres of elevation gain, will start and finish in Santa Eulàlia del Riu and cover coastal areas, peaks and beaches in the north of the island.

The Marathon will cover 44 kilometres with 1,560 metres of elevation gain, starting in Portinax. The Half Marathon will start in Cala Sant Vicent and the 10K in Es Canar; all three races will finish in Santa Eulàlia del Riu.

The final day will be Sunday 29 November in Santa Eulàlia, with a 10-kilometre stage taking in cliffs.
