Plan your race pace

Valencia contra el Cáncer 2026 (Valencia Against Cancer) takes place on Sunday 22 November on the Paseo de la Alameda, on a 6-kilometre city loop shared by its four formats: a race, a public skate, Nordic walking and a walk. It is the city’s biggest charity running event, organised by the Spanish Association Against Cancer in Valencia, and the bib costs 5 euros that go entirely to research.

The event was originally set for 18 October but was postponed because of an orange alert for heavy rain. Entries made for that date remain valid with no paperwork, and registration has reopened until Wednesday 18 November at 14:00.

Start times for each format

The day starts early. The competitive race starts at 8:30, with runners placed in pens according to the pace they gave when registering, and the award ceremony is planned for 9:15 on the podium in the finish area. The public skate follows, at 8:45 according to the latest schedule released by the organisers.

The second wave comes mid-morning: Nordic walking starts at 10:00 and the walk at 10:05. It is the most open format and the only one where pushchairs and pets are allowed, so many families turn it into a Sunday stroll with a bib.

The bag drop is free and opens at 7:30 in the tents next to the start. Arrive with time to spare: last year’s edition had more than 20,000 participants, and access to the Alameda fills up well before the first start.

A course through central Valencia

The start and finish are on the Paseo de la Alameda, between the Exposición and Flores bridges, beside the old Turia riverbed. The course is flat and urban and heads into the historic centre as far as the Torres de Quart, where one of the two drink stations is located; the other is in the area after the finish.

Six kilometres go a long way in Valencia. It is just the right distance for a recreational runner to push without paying for it at the end, and for walkers to see the city at a different pace, with no cars and thousands of T-shirts around them. After the finish there is a free fitness session in the finish area from 11:15 to 12:00, and a charity signature photocall at the start.

Entry, price and bib collection

Registration is done on the event’s official website, part of the RunCáncer series, and costs 5 euros for any format. For the skate, Nordic walking and the walk there are also in-person sales at the association’s office at Avenida del Puerto 13 and at the sports floors of El Corte Inglés in Nuevo Centro, Pintor Sorolla and Avenida de Francia, as well as Hipercor Ademuz. The race can only be entered online.

Anyone who cannot take part but still wants to help can buy the zero bib, with donations of 5, 10, 20 or 30 euros, available within the same deadline. The window to request a refund because of the date change closed on 30 October; those who did not ask for one keep their five euros as a donation.

Bibs are collected at the La Petxina Sports and Cultural Complex on Friday 20 November, from 15:00 to 20:00, and on Saturday 21, from 10:00 to 20:00. Those who already picked theirs up at Feria Valencia before the postponement do not need to go again.

Bigger every year

The event’s growth explains its place on Valencia’s calendar. In 2016 it brought together just over 5,000 people; in 2025 there were 20,304 participants and 101,520 euros raised, the largest edition in its history. All the money funds cancer research projects carried out by the association in Valencia with young researchers.

It is organised by the Spanish Association Against Cancer with the City Council’s Municipal Sports Foundation, with main support from the Valencia Provincial Council and around forty companies and institutions. The new date puts it two weeks before the Valencia Marathon, and there are other events in the same series across the province, such as RunCáncer Alcàsser. Times and conditions may change: the official event website is always the reference.
